Hilary Knight Crowned USA Hockey’s Best Player of 2025, Sets New Records at World Stage
Knight clinches third Bob Allen Women’s Player of the Year honor while Stacey Hochkins is named Adult Player of the Year ahead of USA Hockey’s annual awards gala in Denver.
USA Hockey has officially named Hilary Knight the 2025 Bob Allen Women’s Player of the Year, celebrating her stellar season and historic achievements in international women’s hockey. This marks Knight’s third time earning the prestigious title, with previous wins in 2014 and 2022, further cementing her status as an icon of the sport.
Knight’s exceptional performance at the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship played a pivotal role in her selection. Leading Team USA to its 11th World Championship title, Knight scored nine points in the tournament, including the opening goal in the gold medal match against arch-rival Canada. In a display of consistency and brilliance, she set a new all-time record for most assists in Women’s World Championship history—bringing her total to 53—and now holds the records for most goals, assists, and total points in tournament history.
The Boston Fleet captain also had a remarkable season in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), tying for the league lead in points (29) and finishing second in goals (15). As both a scoring machine and a team leader, Knight continues to redefine excellence in women’s hockey.
Looking forward, Knight has announced that the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan will be her final Olympic appearance. With one gold and three silver medals already in her Olympic collection, she hopes to conclude her illustrious career on the highest note possible.
In addition to Knight, USA Hockey will honor Stacey Hochkins as the 2025 Adult Player of the Year. Hailing from New Boston, Michigan, Hochkins is being recognized for her enduring dedication to the game as both a player and a coach. She played an instrumental role in leading the Foundry 13 Little Caesars Women’s Team to the 21+ Tier 1 title at the 2025 USA Hockey-Long Drink Adult Women’s National Championship.
high schools, Hochkins exemplifies passion and perseverance in the sport at the grassroots level.
Both women will be honored at USA Hockey’s annual President’s Awards Dinner on June 6 in Denver, where 12 individuals will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the game.
