Country Star Lorrie Morgan Mourns Husband Randy White After Brave Battle with Mouth Cancer
Randy White, Morgan’s partner of 17 years, passes away at 72 leaving behind a loving family and heartfelt tributes
Country music star Lorrie Morgan is grieving the loss of her beloved husband, Randy White, who died early on June 1 at the age of 72 after a courageous fight against mouth cancer. The heartfelt announcement was shared by Morgan’s longtime friend and manager, Tony Conway, along with a touching message from Morgan herself.
“Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years,” Morgan said in the statement. “Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
White’s battle with mouth cancer began in 2024, and his health struggles prompted Morgan to cancel several upcoming performances earlier this year. Despite the challenges, White remained a pillar of strength and love for Morgan and her family.
Morgan’s son, country singer Jesse Keith Whitley, also paid tribute to White on Facebook, reflecting on the profound impact White had on him and his family. “This great man has been here and loved my mom, and also me & my sister as though we were his own,” Whitley wrote. “We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan!”
Born on May 15, 1953, Randy White was a successful entrepreneur who owned a landscaping business and was a graduate of Hendersonville High School and Volunteer State Community College. He and Morgan were married in a private beach ceremony in September 2010. Morgan, who had previously been married five times—including to late country star Keith Whitley—found in White a devoted companion and loving father figure to her children.
The couple shared a large blended family, which includes Morgan’s two children, White’s four, along with fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Morgan’s manager confirmed that White had been undergoing treatment and was recently hospitalized in Middle Tennessee, a period that saw Morgan put her career on hold to support her husband.
The country music community and fans worldwide have expressed an outpouring of sympathy and support for Morgan during this difficult time, remembering White’s warmth, resilience, and the deep bond he shared with Morgan.
