R Truth celebrates one of his record-breaking 24/7 Championship reigns in WWE, leaving behind a legacy full of laughter and unforgettable moments.

After a remarkable 17-year journey, WWE veteran Ron Killings, better known to fans as R Truth, has officially parted ways with the wrestling giant. The 53-year-old star broke the news on social media, expressing deep gratitude to WWE and his millions of supporters worldwide.

“I’m sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE,” R Truth shared on X (formerly Twitter). “I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride. Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”

His departure marks the end of his second and longest stint with WWE, which began in 2008. While he initially appeared briefly from 1999 to 2001, R Truth truly became a household name during his second run, known for his charisma, humor, and undeniable connection with fans. Prior to WWE, he made waves in TNA Wrestling, showcasing his versatility and talent.

Though he never captured the WWE World Championship, R Truth carved out an unforgettable legacy with his signature comedic style and engaging promos. His unique antics—like carrying around an imaginary friend “Little Jimmy,” mixing up wrestlers’ names, and his viral moments with Brock Lesnar and John Cena—made him one of the most beloved entertainers in the ring.

Perhaps most famously, he dominated the 24/7 Championship scene, a title known for its chaotic and unpredictable defenses. With 53 reigns as 24/7 Champion, R Truth brought laughter and excitement in every appearance, turning what could have been a gimmick into a fan-favorite phenomenon.

His recent storylines kept fans hooked, including his attempts to join the notorious Judgment Day faction and his memorable face-off with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event. R Truth’s final WWE match took place on May 30 during SmackDown, closing the chapter on an extraordinary career.

The wrestling community reacted swiftly to the news, sharing heartfelt tributes. WWE star Rhea Ripley called the news “literally so heartbreaking,” while Damian Priest shared nostalgic memories from their shared time in The Judgment Day. The Miz, who teamed with R Truth to win tag team gold at WrestleMania 40, hailed him as “one in a lifetime.” AEW star Ricochet praised him as “an amazing talent and an even better person.”

Fans across social media were left stunned, with many expressing disbelief that such a vibrant personality could be gone. One fan pleaded, “Tell me this is a joke,” while another exclaimed, “Truth you just had a match with Cena, dude please be trolling.”

R Truth’s release comes amid WWE’s ongoing roster changes, following several other high-profile departures this year. While the wrestling world mourns his exit, there’s no doubt that Ron Killings’ legacy as a fan favorite and entertainment icon will live on.

As he steps away from WWE, fans eagerly await what new chapters the beloved star will write next—whether inside the squared circle or beyond.
