The competition will feature eight powerhouse teams: India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. They will compete in a rigorous round-robin format across 28 league matches before advancing to the knockouts. The first semi-final will be held on October 29 at either Guwahati or Colombo, with the second semi-final following on October 30 in Bengaluru. The final is slated for November 2, to be contested in either Bengaluru or Colombo, allowing teams at least two days of preparation after the semis.

Australia enters the tournament as the reigning champions, having claimed their seventh Women’s World Cup title in New Zealand in 2022. Their dominance in the sport adds a thrilling layer of competition for other nations eager to dethrone the champions.

ICC Chair Jay Shah expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event and the future of women’s cricket, stating, “Fans have shown great support for the women’s game in recent years, and I am sure they will start planning for these showpiece events now that they have key dates and venues.
