A New Venture Studio Bets Big on Left-Leaning Creators and Says This Is Just the Beginning…
Backed by tech and policy veterans, AND Media wants to help progressive creators turn influence into scalable, sustainable media businesses
The creator economy is exploding — but not everyone is cashing in equally.
While right-leaning digital creators have built powerful, well-funded ecosystems over the last decade, many left-leaning voices with comparable reach and cultural relevance still struggle to translate influence into long-term financial stability. A new venture studio believes it knows why — and more importantly, how to fix it.
Enter AND Media, a newly launched venture studio that is openly betting on the idea that progressive creators can be scaled into independent media powerhouses if they are given the right mix of capital, strategy, and operational support.
“We believe the real value in digital media today lies in scalable formats, franchises, and IP born from creator-led brands,” said Christian Tom, CEO of AND Media, explaining the company’s core thesis. “Culture is increasingly shaped by digital creators rather than traditional institutions — and that shift is only accelerating.”

Why AND Media Thinks the Timing Is Right
The logic behind AND Media is rooted in experience. Its founding team — Christian Tom, Aisha Shah, and Landon Morgado — brings together backgrounds spanning technology, public policy, and modern media platforms. Collectively, they’ve worked at companies like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, GoFundMe, Twitter (X), NowThis, and even inside the White House.
That cross-section of Silicon Valley, digital storytelling, and political infrastructure helped the founders identify a gap: progressive creators often build passionate communities but lack the backend systems that turn passion into scalable businesses.
Instead of acting like a traditional talent agency or media network, AND Media positions itself as a venture studio — investing early, sharing risk, and actively helping creators build IP-driven ecosystems that can live across platforms.
The Initial Slate: Familiar Faces and New Experiments
AND Media’s first lineup blends established digital stars with creators expanding into new formats.
Among the most notable projects is the return of Kareem Rahma’s Keep the Meter Running. Rahma is already a recognizable name thanks to his viral Subway Takes series, which carved out a unique lane by mixing street-level interviews with sharp political and cultural commentary. The revival signals a deeper push into long-form, franchise-ready storytelling.
Another key project is Hunter Prosper’s expansion of Stories From a Stranger onto YouTube. Known for deeply personal, emotionally resonant storytelling, Prosper’s move reflects a broader strategy to migrate loyal newsletter and social audiences into scalable video formats.
The studio is also backing The Small Bow, a new video podcast adapted from the highly engaged newsletter “THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT”, proving that text-first communities can be transformed into multimedia brands.

Rounding out the slate is an all-new current events video podcast from comedian, writer, and composer Matt Buechele, signaling AND Media’s interest in blending humor, politics, and culture — a combination that historically performs well when given room to grow.
Beyond Algorithms and Ad Revenue
What separates AND Media from existing creator incubators is its long-term outlook. The studio isn’t just chasing viral clips or short-term monetization. Its goal is to help creators develop intellectual property that can evolve into podcasts, shows, books, live events, and even standalone studios.
In other words, it’s not about beating the algorithm this week — it’s about building cultural relevance that lasts years.
For many left-leaning creators, this approach could be transformative. The influence has always been there. What’s been missing is infrastructure.
A Quiet Shift With Loud Implications
As traditional media continues to fragment and trust in institutions erodes, creators are becoming the new power brokers of culture. AND Media’s bet is simple but bold: if progressive creators are given the same strategic and financial backing long enjoyed by their conservative counterparts, the media landscape could tilt in unexpected ways.
Whether AND Media becomes a blueprint for the next generation of independent studios remains to be seen. But one thing is clear — the race to professionalize the creator economy is entering a new phase, and this time, the left doesn’t want to be left behind.
