Noah Beck Breaks Out of TikTok Fame With New Movie Role — “This Industry Has Humbled Me in the Best Way”
The 24-year-old social media star opens up about Sidelined 2: Intercepted, working with Hollywood veterans, and why acting has become his biggest challenge yet.
Noah Beck is no stranger to internet fame — but now the TikTok heartthrob with more than 40 million followers is chasing something far bigger than viral dances. The 24-year-old athlete-turned-content-creator-turned-actor is stepping into his next chapter with the release of Sidelined 2: Intercepted, the sequel to his 2023 film Sidelined: The QB and Me.
Beck reprises his role as Drayton, starring opposite Siena Agudong, and he says this film marks a turning point in how he wants audiences to see him — not just as a social media personality, but as a genuine performer.
From Viral Dances to Leading Roles: “I’m Ready for Anything”
Beck’s rise began in 2020 after dropping out of college and joining the Sway House, the now-defunct TikTok collective that once dominated the platform. His lip-sync videos, collaborations, and physique quickly helped him amass a devoted global fanbase on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
But acting, he says, is something else entirely.

“I’ve truly loved how humbling this industry is,” Beck told The Hollywood Reporter.
“If this industry will continue to have me, I’ll happily be there. I want to try every genre.”
That hunger to learn — and willingness to start from scratch — is part of what he believes will keep him grounded.
Working With James Van Der Beek Again
One of the highlights of returning for the sequel, Beck revealed, was reuniting with James Van Der Beek, best known for Dawson’s Creek.
Beck said Van Der Beek helped him understand the discipline needed to build longevity in Hollywood.
“Working with James again was a blessing… he leads with so much kindness and experience.”
Their dynamic on set, he added, helped him feel more confident stepping deeper into the world of film.
Could There Be a Sidelined 3? Beck Doesn’t Rule It Out
While Beck isn’t spilling too much about future sequels, he did tease the possibility of more films in the franchise. The success of the first movie on Tubi, combined with the growing fan interest in his character, leaves the door wide open.

“I’ll never rule something out before doing it — that’s just shooting yourself in the foot.”
For fans, his openness has sparked speculation that Sidelined 3 may be more likely than he’s letting on.
Social Media Fame: A Blessing and a Challenge
Despite being one of TikTok’s biggest breakout stars, Beck admits his relationship with social media has changed.
He explained that while platforms like TikTok and Instagram opened the door for his career, they also created pressures he didn’t expect — especially as he transitioned into film.
The biggest challenge he has overcome?
Learning not to measure his self-worth through analytics.
“I’ve learned to separate Noah the creator from Noah the person.”
It’s a sentiment many creators struggle with, and one that Beck now feels more comfortable discussing as he builds a life beyond the screen.
The Road Ahead: Fashion, Film, and Full Ambition
Beck has already dipped into the fashion world — including runway appearances and brand partnerships — but acting is where he sees the most room for growth. He says he’s willing to take risks, learn from the ground up, and embrace the type of vulnerability that Hollywood demands.
As Sidelined 2: Intercepted reaches audiences, Beck says he hopes fans will see a new dimension of him — not just the TikTok star or the influencer, but the actor.
And judging by the buzz around his performance, Noah Beck may be on the verge of his biggest breakout yet.

Doctor Who Supplied Matthew Perry With Ketamine Sentenced to 30 Months… Court Says He Exploited the Actor’s Vulnerability for Profit
Former Malibu physician Salvador Plasencia admitted to supplying over 20 vials of ketamine to Matthew Perry in the weeks before the Friends star’s fatal overdose.
A deeply disturbing chapter in the tragic death of Friends star Matthew Perry reached a pivotal moment this week as the doctor who illegally supplied him with ketamine was sentenced in federal court.
Salvador Plasencia, a former physician who operated an urgent care clinic in Malibu, was sentenced to 30 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for distributing ketamine to Perry in the weeks leading up to his fatal overdose in October 2023.
A Shocking Breach of Trust
U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett delivered the sentence after Plasencia pleaded guilty to illegally distributing a controlled substance. Prosecutors accused him of knowingly taking advantage of Perry’s long, painful struggle with addiction.
In a sentencing memo, federal prosecutors wrote:
“Rather than do what was best for Mr. Perry — someone who had struggled with addiction for most of his life — defendant sought to exploit Perry’s medical vulnerability for profit.”

According to court documents, Plasencia provided more than 20 vials of ketamine over a two-week period, even traveling to Perry’s home multiple times to inject the actor himself.
At one point, he reportedly asked another associate:
“I wonder how much this moron will pay.”
Part of a Larger Criminal Network
Plasencia is the first of five individuals charged in connection with supplying the actor with ketamine. Perry’s death was ruled an accidental overdose, caused primarily by acute ketamine effects, according to reports from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Investigators say Plasencia was fully aware that Perry’s assistant — not a licensed medical professional — was regularly administering the drug without proper oversight. He also knew Perry had suffered adverse reactions to ketamine in the past.
What Prosecutors Wanted — and What He Got
Prosecutors had recommended a three-year prison sentence, emphasizing what they called “egregious breaches of trust.”
However, if the former doctor had taken the case to trial and lost, he could have faced a 40-year sentence.

Wednesday’s sentencing marks the first major step toward accountability in a complex case involving multiple defendants and months of investigation.
Matthew Perry’s Struggle and Legacy
Perry, who became a global icon for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, had been candid for years about his lifelong battles with addiction — even chronicling it in his bestselling memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
He was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023. His death shocked fans worldwide and reignited conversations about addiction, celebrity vulnerability, and the alarming rise of ketamine misuse.
A Case That Raises Bigger Questions
The sentencing of Plasencia leaves lingering questions about medical ethics, celebrity exploitation, and the alarming ease with which powerful drugs can be obtained outside proper clinical supervision.
As more defendants await sentencing, the case continues to unfold — but for Perry’s fans, friends, and loved ones, the emotional wound remains open.
One thing, however, is clear:
Matthew Perry’s legacy lives on — not just in television history, but in the ongoing fight to protect those struggling with addiction.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez Spark Emotional Standing Ovation… “A Real Sense of Community” Steals the Spotlight at THR Women in Entertainment Gala
From Gwyneth Paltrow receiving the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award to Jennifer Lopez being honored for amplifying underrepresented voices, Hollywood’s most influential women united for a morning of power, purpose, and celebration.
The ballroom of the Beverly Hills Hotel shimmered with star power on Wednesday as The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment gala — presented by Lifetime — brought together leading voices shaping Hollywood’s future. This year’s event wasn’t just glamorous; it was deeply emotional, grounded in the shared mission of empowering women across film, television, streaming, and media.
Two icons stood at the heart of the celebration: Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez — each honored for her unique contributions to entertainment and culture.
Gwyneth Paltrow Receives the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award
Paltrow, an Academy Award-winning actress, entrepreneur, and founder of Goop, was honored with the prestigious Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, given annually to a woman who has broken new ground in her field. Previous recipients include Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis, and Shonda Rhimes.
Accepting the award, Paltrow spoke about mentorship, resilience, and the importance of “showing up for each other in an industry that can feel isolating.” Her comments resonated deeply in a room filled with young filmmakers, executives, and mentees.

Jennifer Lopez Honored for Advocacy and Equity
If Paltrow’s award recognized leadership, Jennifer Lopez’s moment spotlighted impact.
The Equity in Entertainment Award celebrates artists advocating for underrepresented communities — a role Lopez has embraced throughout her career, from championing Latino talent to producing stories that reflect diverse experiences.
Lopez, whose influence extends from music to acting to global entrepreneurship, thanked the community for “lifting each other up when the world tells us we’re not enough.”
Her presence ignited the room, with attendees cheering as she spoke about creating opportunities for the next generation of storytellers.
A Morning of Icons: RDJ, Kerry Washington, Dakota Johnson, Regina Hall & More
The event featured appearances from a powerful lineup, including:
Each lent humor, inspiration, and support to the moment, reinforcing why this annual gathering remains one of Hollywood’s most meaningful traditions.
“A Real Sense of Community” — The Theme That United the Room
What stood out most wasn’t the gowns or the celebrity appearances — it was the palpable sense of unity.

Both Lopez and Paltrow emphasized that the entertainment industry thrives when women support one another. Their speeches echoed a collective belief: progress doesn’t happen alone.
The gala also coincided with the release of THR’s Women in Entertainment Power 100, an annual list highlighting the most influential female executives shaping Hollywood’s future. From studio chiefs to streaming pioneers, the list reflects a shifting landscape where women increasingly drive the decisions behind the world’s biggest stories.
A Celebration of Power, Purpose & Possibility
As the morning ended, the conversations lingered — discussions about mentorship, opportunity, and responsibility. For many attendees, especially young women in THR’s mentorship program, the event wasn’t just symbolic; it was transformational.
A producer whispered to a mentee at her table:
“These are the women who broke the doors open. Now it’s your turn to walk through.”
It was a reminder of what the day truly represented:
Not just success, but legacy. Not just recognition, but empowerment.

Hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, the annual gala recognizes powerful women shaping the entertainment industry. But the emotional highlight of the morning came when students from THR’s Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program were awarded scholarships that will pave the way for their college careers.

A Partnership Built to Change Futures
The scholarship initiative is part of a long-standing collaboration between The Hollywood Reporter, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, and a fiscally sponsored fund of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
For years, the Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program has paired high school girls with top female executives across the industry — guiding them through academic decisions, emotional challenges, and professional development.
This year, the commitment expanded:
More than $1 million in scholarships were handed out to help these students attend universities they once feared were financially out of reach.
Regina Hall and Chase Infiniti Deliver Life-Changing News
When Regina Hall, celebrated for her performances in Girls Trip and Scary Movie, stepped up to the microphone alongside Chase Infiniti, the ballroom erupted in applause. Together, they revealed the scholarship recipients — each name greeted with cheers and tears from mentors and families.
Hall, known for blending warmth and humor seamlessly, reminded the students:
“Your stories matter. Your dreams matter. This industry needs your voices.”
Infiniti, who has become a vocal advocate for youth empowerment, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing how critical it is for the entertainment world to uplift the next generation.

An Issue That Honors Power — and Potential
The gala coincided with the release of The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Issue, which annually highlights the most influential and forward-thinking female executives and artists across film, television, music, and digital media.
This year’s list — filled with producers, studio heads, showrunners, and innovators — served as both inspiration and proof that the entertainment industry is slowly but steadily becoming more inclusive.
A Day These Students Will Never Forget
For the high school seniors in attendance, many of whom have overcome significant hardships, the event marked a turning point. Several will now be the first in their families to attend college.
Mentors and attendees compared the atmosphere to a graduation ceremony, a red carpet premiere, and a family reunion rolled into one. The morning was filled with stories of resilience, ambition, and the transformative power of opportunities.
As one mentor commented quietly while hugging her student:
“This is what real change looks like.”
