Soleil Stuns the Dog World — Belgian Sheepdog Wins 2025 National Dog Show in a “Drop-Dead Gorgeous” Performance…

A flawless stride, magnetic confidence, and an arena-filling presence pushed Soleil, the black Belgian Sheepdog, to a triumphant Best in Show victory at the 2025 National Dog Show.

Soleil, the Belgian Sheepdog, steals the spotlight after winning Best in Show at the 2025 National Dog Show.

The 2025 National Dog Show delivered one of its most competitive and emotionally charged finales yet — and at the center of it all was Soleil, a striking black Belgian Sheepdog whose grace, speed and showmanship left the judges, analysts and millions of viewers completely captivated.

Co-host and legendary voice of the dog world David Frei , calling his 51st major dog broadcast, summed it up perfectly:
“It’s a dog show — and you’ve got to show! And Soleil showed.”

From the moment she stepped into the ring at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Soleil looked as if she owned every inch of the ground beneath her.

“Didn’t Miss a Beat” — What Made Soleil Unstoppable

Best in Show judge Charlie Olvis offered perhaps the most glowing review of the evening:

“Didn’t put its foot down wrong. Didn’t miss a beat. And it is in drop-dead gorgeous condition.”

According to her handler Daniel Martin, from Princeton, North Carolina, Soleil thrives on energy:

“She loves the crowd… that’s her magic. She’s a winner.”

Their teamwork — a blend of precise movement and confident posture — created a performance that many insiders say could go down as one of the competition’s most memorable displays.

A Field Packed With Elite Champions

Soleil made her triumph even more remarkable by beating a lineup considered one of the strongest in National Dog Show history. Every dog in the final Round of Seven was ranked No. 1 in its breed.

Her main rivals included:

  • Comet, a Shih Tzu with 143 Best in Show titles
  • Neal, a Bichon Frise with 42 Best in Shows
  • Baby Joe, the Miniature Schnauzer ranked top all-breed dog in the U.S.

Frei emphasized the significance:
“You have seven group winners who are all perfect specimens. Something else — attitude, charisma, personality — has to make the difference. Soleil had it.”

He added that he especially appreciated seeing a female dog dominate a field typically led by males.

Why This Wasn’t an “Upset” — The Beauty of Dog Show Subjectivity

Despite the high pedigree of Soleil’s competitors, Frei insists the win shouldn’t be labeled a surprise.

Dog shows, he explained, live on subjectivity — it’s what keeps the sport alive.

“The best dogs can’t win every day. Different judges, different preferences — just like different players have good days and bad days.”

He compared it to the unpredictability of sports, even referencing NBA star Tyrese Maxey

“Maxey isn’t going to score 50 every night. Same with dogs. No one can be perfect every time.”

But this time, Soleil was.

Inside the 2025 Best in Show Results

Best in Show — Soleil (Belgian Sheepdog)

Reserve Best in Show — George (American Foxhound)

Group Winners:

  • Non-Sporting: Neal (Bichon Frise)
  • Working: Dino (Giant Schnauzer)
  • Terrier: Baby Joe (Miniature Schnauzer)
  • Toy: Comet (Shih Tzu)
  • Sporting: Tyler (English Setter)
  • Hound: George (American Foxhound)

A Record Entry — Nearly 2,000 Dogs, 201 Breeds

This year’s National Dog Show saw 1,994 competitors from 201 breeds, making it the largest entry since 2019.

The most represented breed?
Golden Retriever, with 46 entries.

Frei believes the event is on track to surpass 2,000 competitors in 2026.

A Thanksgiving Tradition Millions Tune In For

Televised on NBC for the 24th consecutive year and streamed on Peacock , the National Dog Show followed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — giving it a viewership of nearly 25 million people.

Frei says that’s part of the event’s magic:

“99% of viewers may never go to a dog show — but the 1% that do includes judges who may spot their next champion.”

It’s why competitors from across the U.S. and the world travel to Philadelphia for their shot.

Soleil’s Story Isn’t Over — Bigger Titles Ahead

Co-owned by Connie Jasinski, Pat Snow, and Nancy Maye, Soleil now heads toward the two biggest stages in the dog world:

  • AKC National Championship
  • Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

If Thursday’s performance was any indication, the Belgian Sheepdog may not be done making history.

For now, Soleil leaves Philadelphia with a title earned through poise, movement, confidence — and a performance that “owned the arena.”

Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale: 20 Fashion Trends From Boots to Zebra Print
Bold boots, animal prints, and statement silhouettes dominate Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale, offering a preview of the season’s biggest fashion trends.

Sales come and go, but every so often, one feels less like a clearance event and more like a style forecast. That’s exactly what fashion watchers are saying about the latest Half-Yearly Sale from Nordstrom—a retail moment that’s turning into a roadmap for what people will actually be wearing in the months ahead.

From knee-high boots making a confident return to zebra print showing up on everything from coats to handbags, the sale lineup reads like a trend report hiding in plain sight.

Why This Sale Is Catching Fashion Insiders’ Attention

Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale has long been known for mixing designer labels with wearable everyday pieces, but this season feels different. The selection leans bold, expressive, and unapologetically styled—suggesting a shift away from quiet minimalism toward statement dressing.

Shoppers scrolling through the sale racks aren’t just hunting for deals; they’re spotting patterns. Certain silhouettes, textures, and prints appear again and again, hinting at what brands are betting on next.

The Standout Trends Everyone’s Talking About

Among the most buzzed-about styles emerging from the sale:

  • Knee-High Boots: Sleek leather and structured designs are dominating, signaling a strong comeback that pairs just as well with dresses as with tailored trousers.
  • Zebra Print Everything: Once considered risky, animal prints—especially zebra—are now front and center, appearing on jackets, bags, and even knitwear.
  • Oversized Blazers: Power dressing continues to evolve, with relaxed tailoring that feels both confident and wearable.
  • Statement Outerwear: From textured coats to dramatic lengths, outerwear is no longer an afterthought—it’s the outfit.

  • Bold Accessories: Chunky boots, eye-catching belts, and sculptural handbags are finishing looks with intention.

What’s notable is how wearable these trends feel. This isn’t runway fantasy—it’s fashion designed to move from workdays to weekends without losing impact.

Fashion Is Swinging Back to Personality

After seasons dominated by neutral palettes and pared-back basics, the mood is clearly shifting. The pieces gaining traction at Nordstrom suggest shoppers are ready to have fun again—mixing prints, experimenting with proportions, and leaning into individuality.

Retail analysts often note that sales reveal more than new collections do. Discounted racks show what brands produced in volume—and what they believed consumers would want. This season’s mix suggests confidence, creativity, and a willingness to stand out.

Why Timing Matters

Half-Yearly Sales don’t last forever, and the most in-demand sizes and styles tend to disappear quickly. For shoppers, it’s a chance to buy into upcoming trends without paying full price. For fashion watchers, it’s a glimpse into where style is headed next.

If these 20 trending pieces are any indication, the coming season won’t be subtle—and that may be exactly the point.

On Shoes Sale: Up to 50% Off Running, Walking and Training Models
Popular On running and training shoes are seeing rare discounts—some models now up to 50% off for a limited time.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade your footwear, this may be it. On, the Swiss performance shoe brand that’s built a loyal following among runners, walkers, and gym-goers, is offering discounts of up to 50% on some of its most popular models.

For a company that rarely leans heavily into markdowns, the sale has quietly caught attention—especially among athletes who swear by On’s signature CloudTec cushioning and minimalist design.

Why On Shoes Have a Cult Following

Founded in Switzerland, On has carved out a unique space in the footwear market by blending clean European design with serious performance tech. Its patented CloudTec sole system is engineered to soften landings while delivering explosive take-offs—a balance that appeals to everyone from marathon runners to casual walkers.

The brand’s rise has also been boosted by high-profile visibility, including backing from tennis icon Roger Federer, who became an investor and collaborator. That association helped push On from niche running circles into mainstream fitness culture.

Best Deals Worth Your Attention

While the sale selection varies, shoppers are spotting strong discounts across multiple categories:

  • Running Shoes: Lightweight, responsive models designed for road running and daily training—ideal for beginners and seasoned runners alike.
  • Walking & Lifestyle Sneakers: Comfortable enough for all-day wear, yet sharp enough to pass as everyday casual shoes.

  • Training Shoes: Stable, supportive options built for gym workouts, cross-training, and high-intensity sessions.

Several buyers online have described the discounts as “unexpected” for a brand known to hold its value, with some models seeing nearly half-price cuts.

Performance Meets Everyday Comfort

What sets On apart isn’t just performance—it’s versatility. Many wearers say the same pair transitions seamlessly from a morning run to a full workday on their feet. That crossover appeal has made the brand particularly popular among professionals who want athletic comfort without overly sporty aesthetics.

In an era where consumers are more selective about quality purchases, a discounted On shoe feels less like an impulse buy and more like a calculated upgrade.

Why This Sale Feels Different

Sales come and go, but On’s are typically limited and selective. That’s why this one is raising eyebrows. With running season approaching in many regions and fitness goals resetting for the year, demand is already strong.

Once sizes start disappearing, restocks are unlikely—especially at these prices.

For runners, walkers, and gym regulars alike, this may be one of the rare moments where premium performance footwear meets genuine value.

Inside Venus Williams’ Five-Day Palm Beach Wedding… How a Chance Gucci Show Led to a Life-Changing “Yes”

From Milan Fashion Week to a sunrise courthouse ceremony, tennis icon Venus Williams and Andrea Preti turned love, faith, and family into an unforgettable wedding week

Inside Venus Williams’ Five-Day Palm Beach Wedding With Andrea Preti
Venus Williams and Andrea Preti during their intimate Palm Beach wedding celebrations

For someone who has spent decades mastering pressure on the world’s biggest courts, Venus Williams approached marriage with the same clarity she once brought to championship points: when you know, you know.

The tennis great and Italian actor-producer Andrea Preti celebrated their second wedding with an intimate yet extravagant five-day affair at their Palm Beach home—an event rooted as much in emotion and resilience as in glamour. The story of how it all began, however, feels almost cinematic.

A Milan Meeting Neither Planned

Williams and Preti first crossed paths in 2024 at Milan Fashion Week—specifically at a Gucci show neither had intended to attend. Venus was on a spontaneous sisters’ trip to Lake Como when a last-minute invitation changed her plans. Preti, tired and reluctant, showed up anyway.

Fate took over upstairs, where Gucci’s then creative director Sabato De Sarno gathered guests for an aperitivo. Preti introduced himself. Venus replied—in Italian. A WhatsApp conversation followed, nudged along by Venus’s sister, and the two were soon texting nonstop.

Within weeks, Preti joined Venus for breakfast with her family in London. “I’m beyond sneaking around,” Venus later said, noting that after six years single, she wanted something honest and uncomplicated. By the end of those London days, she was sure. “I just knew I was going to marry him.”

Love, Health, and an Early Test

The whirlwind romance soon collided with reality. Just ten days later, Williams was diagnosed with adenomyoma, a condition that brought pain, uncertainty, and fear. She confided in Preti early in the relationship. He didn’t hesitate—connecting her with doctors in Italy and supporting her through surgery.

“Thankfully, I froze my eggs a while ago,” Venus later shared, underscoring how deeply personal and vulnerable that period was. It also cemented their bond.

A Tuscan Proposal Under the Stars

Six months later, on January 31, 2025, Preti proposed in Tuscany. After a day of thermal pools and massages, dinner unfolded under the night sky. When he suggested wishing on a star, Venus turned around to find a ring.

Her reaction was pure Venus: jumping, laughing, smiling—just like winning a big match.

Two Weddings, One Story

Their first ceremony took place in Ischia, Italy, in September. But paperwork complications meant the couple needed a second, legal wedding in the US—one that ultimately became a deeply personal celebration of Venus’s Florida roots.

Planned by Jennifer Zabinski (who also orchestrated Serena Williams’s 2017 wedding), the Palm Beach festivities spanned nearly a week. Serena herself gifted the couple a yacht day to kick things off—an intimate gathering of music, gossip, and joy.

Each day featured pool parties at the couple’s home, blending Italian and American cultures as 25 of Preti’s family members flew in from Italy. Bridal showers, fashion moments, and late-night Beyoncé dance-offs followed—Serena even recreated a look from Beyoncé’s “Sorry” video.

Sports Day, Sunrise Vows, and Sacred Calm

True to Venus’s roots, one day was dedicated entirely to sport—tennis, volleyball, pickleball, even obstacle races. “I just wanted to be on the team with my husband,” she said.

The most private moment came before dawn. At 4 a.m., the couple woke for a courthouse ceremony, arriving early enough to have the space entirely to themselves. “Beautiful, calm, sacred,” Venus described it.

Later that day, the full wedding unfolded. Venus wore a shimmering Georges Hobeika gown that reminded her of the ocean. Preti walked out with his mother to the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There.” Venus entered to “Ovunque Sarai” by Irama—a song tied to Preti’s late grandmother, a moment that moved him to tears.

They wrote their own vows—Venus even delivered part of hers in Italian—and recessed to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”

A Joy That Lasted Until 2 a.m.

The night ended with dancing, laughter, and an after-party bus ride fueled by Sexyy Red and French Montana. Eventually, the group was ushered out at 2 a.m.—tired, exhilarated, and deeply connected.

“We all love each other so much,” Venus said later. “It was the happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day.”

For a woman who has lived so much of her life in public, Venus Williams chose to celebrate love in a way that felt profoundly human—unplanned, resilient, and unmistakably her own.
