Born Paul Daniel Frehley, Ace grew up in a musical Bronx family and picked up the guitar at age 13. He spent his teenage years playing in local bands across New York City — and in a little-known chapter of his early career, he even worked as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix at age 18.

In 1973, his life changed forever when he co-founded KISS.

Remarkably, Frehley is the first founding member of KISS to pass away, making the loss even more profound for fans and the music world.
