It’s just one of those characters who seems to fit,” MacLachlan told The Hollywood Reporter in September 2017 after the series finale of Twin Peaks: The Return. “David and I have worked to make this amazing world and character. MacLachlan went on to enjoy massive success on television, starring in Sex and the City as Carrie Bradshaw’s Mr. Big wannabe, Desperate Housewives, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Portlandia, and most recently, the hit series Fallout. His film work includes voicing Riley’s dad in Inside Out (2015), Capone (2020), Blink Twice (2024), and Echo Valley (2025).

The actor has been married to his wife Desiree Gruber since April 2002, and they share one son, Callum.

Sheryl Lee: The Face That Launched a Phenomenon

Sheryl Lee’s dual performance as both murdered homecoming queen Laura Palmer and her innocent cousin Maddy Ferguson was nothing short of haunting. She returned for the prequel film and appeared in 16 episodes of the 2017 revival.

Following Twin Peaks, Lee starred in the short-lived series L.A. Doctors and made memorable appearances on One Tree Hill, House, Perception, and Limetown. Mädchen Amick brought warmth and vulnerability to Shelly Johnson, the waitress trapped in an abusive marriage. She reprised her role in the film and seven episodes of the 2017 revival.

Amick went on to become a familiar face on teen dramas, appearing on Dawson’s Creek, Gilmore Girls, Freddie, Gossip Girl, and Witches of East End. But it was her role as newspaper editor Alice Cooper on the CW‘s Riverdale—which ran for seven seasons—that introduced her to a whole new generation. She also appeared on American Horror Story: Hotel and an episode of Brilliant Minds in 2025.

Amick has been married to David Alexis since 1995. They share two children, daughter Mina and son Sylvester.

Sherilyn Fenn: The Unforgettable Audrey Horne

Sherilyn Fenn’s Audrey Horne—the rebellious, seductive daughter of businessman Benjamin Horne—became an instant icon. She returned for four episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return.

“It changed my career completely. I had an Emmy nomination, a Golden Globes nomination, and there was so much press around [the show],” Fenn told Glamour in 2017. “The character kept growing and evolving—those characters don’t come along often. Doors opened all of a sudden.”

Fenn starred as Billie Frank on the sitcom Rude Awakening, which ran for three seasons, and made guest appearances on Gilmore Girls, Ray Donovan, Shameless, S.W.A.T., and Shining Vale. Her film work includes Of Mice and Men (1992), Boxing Helena (1993), Immortalist (2021), and Upon Waking (2023).

The actress is a mother of two: son Myles with ex-husband Toulouse Holliday and son Christian with ex-boyfriend Dylan Stewart.

Other notable cast members included Lara Flynn Boyle as Donna Hayward (who went on to star in The Practice), Dana Ashbrook as bad boy Bobby Briggs, Michael Ontkean as Sheriff Harry S. Truman, and Piper Laurie as the scheming Catherine Martell.

Sadly, several beloved cast members have passed away, including Peggy Lipton (mother of Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones), who died in 2019; Jack Nance, who passed in 1996; Warren Frost (Mark Frost’s father), who died in 2017; and Piper Laurie, who passed in 2023.

Most recently, the world mourned the loss of David Lynch himself, who died in January 2025, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy of cinematic genius.
