Human Remains Found in Queensland as Police Probe Missing Man Andrew Burow Case Takes Grim Turn with 3 Clues
Investigators believe they have uncovered human remains in the search for Andrew Burow, with new crime scenes and a public appeal pointing toward sinister developments.
The mystery surrounding missing Queensland man Andrew Burow has taken a tragic turn after police confirmed the discovery of what they believe to be human remains in two separate locations.
The 56-year-old Kelvin Grove resident, known to family and colleagues as a skilled IT and cyber security professional, had not been seen since August 20. He was reported missing four days later. His sudden disappearance triggered widespread concern across Queensland, drawing in multiple investigative teams.
The Shocking Discovery
According to police, remains were found in Maidenwell, a rural town in the South Burnett Region, approximately 20 minutes southwest of Nanango. Another crime scene was set up along the D’Aguilar Highway near Moore, in the Somerset Region.

Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Williams, Brisbane’s regional crime coordinator, expressed his gratitude for the community’s support:
“Every piece of information provided to police is crucial for this investigation. Police will continue to utilise every avenue available to us until we have answers,” Williams said.
The remains are yet to be formally identified, but the family of Andrew Burow has been notified.
Crime Scenes Multiply
This is not the first major breakthrough in the case. Just last week, investigators established three crime scenes across the Sunshine Coast, linking them to Burow’s disappearance.
Two men have already faced the Maroochydore Magistrates Court, charged with the alleged torture of Burow. Both remain in custody, and police have not ruled out additional charges as the investigation unfolds.

Authorities revealed that fresh information was received through Crime Stoppers after an appeal for public help. The tip concerned a fire in the Blackbutt area on August 29, leading officers directly to the Maidenwell and Moore sites.
Cars at the Center of the Case
Police are now urging the public to provide any information or dashcam footage related to three specific vehicles:
- A black 2010 BMW X3 (Queensland registration 802NX4)
- A black 2011 Ford Ranger utility with false plates (QLD registration 257LX8)
- A silver 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander wagon (QLD registration 385KU2)
Investigators believe these cars may hold the key to unravelling Burow’s final movements. Officers are particularly interested in footage from Brisbane, Ipswich, Yarraman, Blackbutt, and the Sunshine Coast between August 21 and August 26.
A Career Cut Short
Friends and colleagues described Burow as a quiet but brilliant cyber security specialist. His disappearance and the grim developments have shocked the IT community in Queensland, where he was known for his dedication and professional excellence.
The case has also unsettled locals in small towns like Maidenwell and Moore, areas typically known for their rural peace rather than violent crime scenes.

Community’s Role
The discovery highlights the crucial role of public assistance in major police investigations. As Detective Williams emphasized, tips from everyday citizens, combined with dashcam and CCTV evidence, have already provided vital breakthroughs.
The Queensland Police Service has once again urged residents across the state to remain vigilant and come forward with any details, no matter how minor they may seem.
What Happens Next
Forensic teams are now working to formally identify the remains. Meanwhile, detectives are piecing together Burow’s final days, including tracing the movements of the vehicles and individuals linked to his disappearance.
The investigation remains active, with authorities promising to pursue every lead until justice is delivered.
